A young American female tourist on her first ever trip during her summer break to our so-called incredible India had to go through hell getting gang-raped by tour guides and hotel staff in a Delhi five star hotel itself. It is very disturbing to read about such horrible incidents that spoil the image of our nation since it is a place where we have been taught for ages to uphold deep respect with utmost hospitality for our visitors (guests).
Terrified from what she had gone through and being in that traumatic condition she did not report matter to the local cops and her memory got normal only after three months. And that is when she decided to file an FIR and she registered the case through a US based non-profit organisation (NGO) from her home in Pennsylvania and it was a bit difficult for her to pursue her case in india from her country. Initially the tour agency and the hotel were shocked as they were worried about their image and did literally nothing to find out responsible people.
With the help and support of her family and friends she found courage to report the matter to the authorities and the NGO alerted the American Embassy that later forwarded the complaint letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner in October but it was delayed by one and half month and eventually was asked to come to India to identify the accused. She is certain that there are other victims of these culprits and she wants them punished for what they have done to her so that they may not trap innocent tourists in the future.
The victim still holds love for India but she is concerned about rape and violence that often takes place here.

The victim of gang rape in an exclusive interview to INDIA TODAY said she was very excited when she came after nine months for the justice but expressed that she is not happy at all the way Delhi Police have handled the investigation of her case so far. She added that cases of rape are high in India and needs urgent redressal. She was called by Delhi police to get her statement and identification of the rapists done. She was on a package tour to see our country in April. She alleged that she was picked up from the airport by two employees of the tour company and taken straightway to the hotel in Connaught Place and her tour guide laced her water bottle with some sort of sedative and gang raped her for two days along with employees of the hotel. As she was raped for two days she can be able to recognize them by faces pretty well.
