Who says the laws are same for everyone in India. New announcement from Modi-led government says income tax laws won't apply on political parties over their deposits. The parties are entitled to take the donations in old banned currency notes and income tax dept would not investigate such deposits. Moreover, the political parties would have tax exemption over such money whereas if such deposits show in an individual's account then it would be thoroughly investigated.

PENALTY FOR COMMON MAN AND TAX EXEMPTION FOR POLITICAL PARTIES
In a national outrage, this special privilege offered to all the political parties is not being digested by the common Indians at all as to why should the political parties be given such a special power to function like Indian banks. This stunning & upsetting piece of news has given a major blow to PM Modi's BJP party and his own integrity and his clean image.
Being caught on wrong foot and in defense to strong criticism coming from all sides, PM Modi replies in his rally that he has not changed anything in this law, comma, full stop, nothing at all about it, it was introduced by the Congress decades before. What a poor & safest way to pass the bucks which seems to be a general practice these days, Anything what is weak, poor or bad belongs to Opposition. He is making new rules every day, when he can introduce DEMONETIZATION then why can't he make changes in a law that has lots of loopholes.

Income tax dept that has power to raid an individual and scrutinize all the transactions in his/her bank but not over political parties. Every body in India is subject to income tax scrutiny but political parties. The political parties in India seem to have a different and special set of laws and privileges. Against this new horrific announcement, there are debates being conducted on every news channel for past couple of days as to why PM Modi government has given this exceptional power to political parties. Surprisingly, all the other parties other than BJP are criticizing this at the moment to win the hearts of the people in views of upcoming elections.

Like many other political leaders, Mamta Banerjee too has questioned the government's decision to give tax exemption favors on deposits by political parties in 500 and 1000 banned notes which BJP will have to roll back eventually to defend its image.
