Thousand miles away from development, there comes a saddest story of a village, Salapada in Jajpur District where there is no basic amenities like school, hospital till date. A place no less than a hell of hunger and poverty where the human lives are literally breathing air with difficulty and living in utter penury. Not an ounce of development nearby if you have seen the glimpses of the said village in news.
What had happened there yesterday would pierce the soul of any person who knows the real worth of human life. Rekha, daughter-in-law of an old man, Narahari Malik had taken loan of 15,000 from Annapurna Finance Company at Chandikhol. She was due to pay an installment of Rs.800 but unfortunately she was short of one hundred as the entire village had no cash in the times of cash crunch. The old man begged door to door around the village for help but none had any cash. Having no mercy in their hearts, the blood sharks of finance company beat the decrepit old man to death and left the village.
The demon of demonetization has eventually lowered the worth of human life to mere hundred bucks these days. He may not have died in bank queue like many other victims but he doubtlessly has been murdered due to demonetization. Had he found the cash in the village he wouldn't have becomes lifeless.
Look at how bountiful king the local collector is who has announced Rs. 10000 for this poor man's family.
