IS DEMONETIZATION THE REAL SOLUTION FOR BLACK MONEY AND CORRUPTION?

#Demonetisation #BlackMoney #Corruption

CAN DEMONETIZATION REALLY KILL CORRUPTION?

The moment I heard that PM, Modi has announced demonetization of 500 & 1000 denominations currency notes, a great sense of relief spread over me. Momentarily, I was a chump to believe that he has taken a step that would offer tremendous assuagement to this nation but my happiness was short lived because sooner I heard that his government has also launched Rs. 2000 denomination notes.  How can one take right and wrong steps together at the same time?

I can understand that demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee notes is partially good because my common sense says that it would make the heaps of black money store houses into instant dirt, mere heaps of papers wherever corrupt people have stored in those denominations across India. The said step might produce results in curbing black money to a certain extent only but if we Indians take it as serious attempt to kill black money forever would be a gross error.

I am of the opinion that insensible and illogical launch of Rupee 2000 is going to worsen the situation in the future since it would make for those corrupt people easier, convenient to MOVE AND STORE black money in lesser space now. Soon we will have the same amount of black money accumulation or more than what we had before. Haven't we heard the recent cases of corruption that had involvement of new currency notes with in the span of ten days? Isn't this ludicrous? Look at the massive mismanagement that speak of misprinting of new notes by RBI that leaves its colors behind, two different looking new 500 denomination notes and causing massive inconvenience to people making almost the entire nation stand in queues resulting in over 50 peoples' death by now. Besides, not to mention about cops beating the innocent people standing in queue and getting suspension for their unlawful actions.

MISPRINTING OF NEW CURRENCY NOTES

I wonder who advised PM to launch 2000 denomination note?

Can someone be denied his own money he/she kept in the bank by the government? Isn't it unconstitutional? Someone soon might have to answer it on Government's behalf in the supreme court of India.

If you look into past, Indian govt in the times of Morarji Desai had also taken the similar step a few decades back but that did literally nothing to kill corruption and black money in our country. The level of corruption and black money grew exponentially after Morarji Desai's action. Rather the current scenario is worse than what it was then. Look at the scene of massive corruption and ill gotten money across nation and overseas. It is in lakhs of crores! It takes place in our society due to corrupt and greedy dogs in powerful positions of the government because there is always lack of transparency and responsibility in our rotten system that has never been addressed by our leaders.

I believe the demonetization on behalf of BJP govt and RBI which has been taken with huge mismanagement will set a bad example and open the eyes of the entire world in the future that this, I believe, useless step is no permanent solution to kill corruption and black money.  I guess PM, Modi will have to look else where to hit corruption and black money hard like taking corrupt banking system of our country to task because corrupt bankers help the corrupt rich and famous in this nation in a big way that includes Businessmen, politicians, bureaucrats and govt contractors.

And who is going to be held responsible for multiple deaths and suicides of innocent people caused by the mess of demonetization? The banks would never own up this I am sure of that and rather would clear themselves of this that leaves our government to be blamed in the end. I would pray someone sues this government for these deaths that have taken place after mishandled demonetization. It would certainly make government and RBI richer as we hear the black money being seized on every day basis across the country but it being over the death of innocent people is something none would approve of.

Moreover, BJP government is facing serious allegation by opposition parties that it had informed its party members and all its rich friends before taking this step who in turn either managed to convert their money into dollars or got new currency in exchange of old 500 and 1000 notes.

Hadn't we read in the news in the past how BANK OF BARODA was involved in a 6000 crore scam that resulted into the arrest of four bank employees and one of them was from HDFC bank too. Surprisingly, this all occurred after Modi came to power and the scam later was discovered to be more than 50000 crores with the complicity of a few more banks. This reminds me of his CHOWKIDAR & PRADHAN SEWAK specially coined words! God knows what is happening on the front of that investigation now because I heard nothing about it later on. Even Supreme Court of India asked Black Money SIT to look into Bank of Baroda's scam but result we all know. Our media has expertise in forgetting important issues like this one. Is media controlled by high profile key players of this country as often discussed?

This news may give you some insight :

5 things to know about the Bank of Baroda forex scam

6 arrested, over Rs 6000 cr illegal remittances. The investigation is soon likely to reveal more banks and companies.

I had watched a story on demonetization a few days back on AAJ TAK news channel as well based on facts accumulated from across the world that also reflected that DEMONETIZATION has not proved to be an effective measure to control corruption and black money. The following facts that I happened to read might be interesting ones for you too.

  1. Off course launching 2k Currency seems the wrong step..but if we consider it as a predetermined temporary solution to balance the shortage of 100/50rs. Currency then I think this is the only Solution we can say. As far as I heard till now if this 2k will be demonetized again after sometime then only it is supportable otherwise.

    1. Thanks for your views! But I believe printing money costs a great deal and it is our hard-earned money that is spent. we must go for permanent solution than temporary ones. PM Modi ll have to answer the country and opposition if he demonetizes 2k note because its printing cost is too expensive.
